ABSTRACT

 

Over the last several years, floating solar has become a highly regarded application area, due to its flexibility and performance advantages. Floating solar is today a GW-scale market. However, due to the harsh conditions that modules experience on water, developers and module makers offering long-term warranties have to carefully choose their module bill-of-materials. Based on field results we will explain why different materials behave differently, and why the module envelope is so important.
